I decided to read Prodigal Son because I had read and enjoyed Doubt, and I saw clips from the MTC production that I enjoyed. I'd say this play is probably better to see than to read. There are some great moments--a lovely monologue, a couple of sharp lines, but overall, the play didn't feel like anything new. Well constructed and well written Perform the script The Prodigal. I decided to read Prodigal Son because I had read and enjoyed Doubt, and I saw clips from the MTC production that I enjoyed. I'd say this play is probably better to see than to read. There are some great moments--a lovely monologue, a couple of sharp lines, but overall, the play didn't feel like anything new.
