You can change the layout, switch out villagers instantly, edit your home’s exterior and size instantly, spawn items, remove rocks, move buildings, and all of that jazz. Like when you get a good villager, stuff like that. I use it when I'm happy with my town and would be upset if anything changed. But it does make plot resting easier, back up your game before someone's house is built and then if they're in a bad spot just restore your backup and try again.

I didn't go too crazy, found a really good river layout and building placement, all I did was change grass pattern, native fruit, moved two houses and replaced a pond with just a blank acre tile.

Retail does not have to be on it's tile, neither does the town tree (named: town plaza in the editor) You can put your house on an island you've added into your map like above but the stone tiles under your house will appear on the roof. Save File editing with PowerSaves? Animal Crossing New. You can't edit save files with poweraves, but it;s very good for backing up points in you're game. Like when you get a good villager, stuff like that. I use it when I'm happy with my town and would be upset if anything changed. But it does make plot resting easier, back up your game before someone's house is built and then if they're in a bad spot just restore your backup and try again. So, for the first time, last weekend I hacked an ACNL town using the map editor. I didn't go too crazy, found a really good river layout and building placement, all I did was change grass pattern, native fruit, moved two houses and replaced a pond with just a blank acre tile..

I'm loading a save that I created from either the Leaftools backup tool or the RAM editor tool, I can't remember. I'm using the hex editor suggested by the linked article, Cygnus. None of these values seem to be anywhere, like the grass shape block 0x4DA01. I can't even type the "x" character into the find tool. It allows players to EDIT their SAVE FILES. It plugs into your computer with a USB cable, and you plug your game cartridge into the Powersaves device. Using software on your PC, you are then able to make certain changes to your ACNL save file (and other games, too). Restart your game and save. Make a dump of this new AC:NL savegame. Open the old garden.dat/garden_plus.dat savegame in the editor; Go to the Other tab, click on the pencil next to Secure Value and load the newest garden.dat/garden_plus.dat here. That will turn your old savegame into a valid savegame for the console.
